Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, i am currently on holiday until monday, but i have sometime to look into your issue, I am having trouble replicating your issue, to help me out are you able to:

1. Click on the settings tab and check the enable debug mode.
2. Go into the importer, and take a screenshot of the cutom fields working on the first importer.
3. At the bottom of that importer there should be a new button on the far bottom right labelled "Show Debug", this will open a panel below with a field labelled "Importer settings", (this is just a base64 encoded string containing all the importer settings and does not contain the file you are trying to import), can you copy and paste that string.
4. Create the second importer that breaks the custom fields, copy and paste that importers base64 encoded string
5. Take a screenshot of what the broken custom fields looks like.

Sorry I will try to clarify.

When I import one xml file and setup all my custom tabs everything works fine - I can revisit the template page and add or delete or change the values of the custom fields with no problem.

However if I create another importer and setup a similar template using the same process (because its the same format but with different info in) - when I template tab on either feed is revisited it is not displaying the right information in the custom fields and the ability to delete or edit the custom fields is removed - however it still imports ok in the original order and reading the post_content nothing has changed from when it was working as a single listing.

Hope that makes it clearer.

I have looked into the record counting (i was mistaken as there used to be a record count displayed for each base node, this was removed previously removed) , when you switch files on the Datasource tab of the importer, this is the xml file being pre processed / indexed to allow for quicker interaction using the visual data selector and base node selector, this is required when a file or new file is selected for these to work.

If it is crashing your server could you please send me an a copy of your php error log so i can help resolve this issue, the file indexing/processing has been optimised to have a low memory footprint using file streaming.

In the mean time i will look into custom field list not populating, i have noticed that there is some delay in the custom field list populating, does sthis sound like the same issue? If you check the" enable text field" for that custom field does the custom field key appear? Are you using "Advanced custom fields", or some similar plugin for your custom fields?

When I delete the datafeed back down to one - the custom fields then display back ok - so i think its something to do when there is more than one datafeed - its not corrupting anything just not displaying right for some reason - something not being called by a unique id or a reference wrong - i dunno - im not an expert

At the moment there is no way to disable the importers event stream on the importers tabs, Do you have a server error log to see what is causing the crash? How many importers have you added?

I will have a look at adding in an option to to reduce or disable the importer status checker.

I'm having problem with the custom fields when I use more than one feed.  When I go into the template - the top two custom filds are displaying wrong - albiet they import the right info I think and they turn to read only - when you click the datasource to choose the xml if give the correct variable/tag ?  Its very starge 

i need to set up a list of around 100 feeds so i need to get it right before i start going through them all.

Hi there, great plugin, I am just getting back into the web stuff after a ten year break - wow stuff changed - drag and drop instead of creating tables and divs - lol

OK here we go.

On the importers tab is there anyway to stop it counting the records in the file as I have a few feeds and its crashing the page/server calling the record count for all the files.

Also on a side note - I have been using extra custom fields and instead of mapping every feed evrytime - I have been coping and pasting a slightly edited post_content from the post_type 'iwp_importer' in the posts table - i then simply goto the file page and click download and a new feed is complete.

Be  nice addon if you could somehow do this with the click of a button - a sort of field template if that the right terminology
